10 Must-Know Stats About Mobile Websites

Google recently released a report titled “What Users Want Most From Mobile Sites Today.” The report surveyed just over 1,000 adult smartphone users in July to find out what they liked – and what drove them away – from mobile websites. Here’s what they found:
- 75% (nearly) of smartphone users prefer mobile-friendly sites
- 61% would quickly move onto another site if they don’t find what they’re looking for right away on a mobile site
- 96% have encountered sites that were clearly not optimized for mobile
- 67% are more likely to make a purchase from a mobile-friendly site
- 74% say they are more likely to return to a mobile-friendly site
- 50% will use a business they like less often if the business doesn’t have a mobile-friendly site
- 52% said a bad mobile experience makes them less likely to engage with the company
- 48% report being frustrated or angry when they get to a non-optimized site
- 36% feel like they’ve wasted their time if a site isn’t mobile-friendly
- 48% feel like companies don’t care about their business if they don’t offer mobile-friendly sites
If you don’t optimize your site for mobile use, you’re likely leaving visitors with a bad taste in their mouths. With smartphones becoming more popular everyday, this isn’t a position you can afford to take.
